Music for Cooking!

Music it’s one of the most effective sources to ease and nurture our soul and emotions. I mean look at it’s origins, sooooooo long has passed and we still refuge on sounds for so many reasons.
Babies grow better when stimulated with sounds, we get to peace when we are stressed out and just plug the dang ipod all volume either to run, sing, cry, or whatever.
Art and music are related in this perfect harmony, the way you look at a painting it’s different if combined with music that help us get to the story of that piece specifically.
Probably you are wondering… sooo? Well, when cooking, it is not so different. Emotions can change a recipe, can change flavors on a every-day plate.
One of the most exiting images that come to my mind are this huge buffets that kings had on court around 1620-1650, I always picture some Beethoven while I can draw on my mind hundreds of rich people eating and drinking some of the most exquisite things, laughing and dancing and getting all their food of the floor, and actually makes me laugh every time.
Today, music can get you places without realizing so in cooking it’s impressive the effect you can get out of that, try it.
Our recommendations on cooking music are:
1. Adele – Rolling the deep (for steak or something flambé)
2. Foster the people – Pumped up kicks (for ceviches or fruit cocktails)
3. Air – High school lover (chocolate desserts or brownie ice-cream cakes)
4. Echo & the Bunnymen – The killing moon (Prosciutto salad with goat cheese & balsamic reduction… or salads in general)
5. Fools rush in – Bow wow wow (family or picnic gourmet sandwiches “it has to include putting inside a picnic basket” something)
6. Opus 36 – Dustin O’Halloran (decorating cookies or cakes it’s gooood for concentration)
7. Sidedish friend – Rachel Yamagata (caramelized tomatoes on parmesan crispy toast or pasta)
8. Lamb Curry - Give it to me hot! (When you try to emulate one of Jamie Oliver recipes)
9. The Tudors – Theme song (Shrimp or spinach and goat cheese quiche)
10. Soul Power (cleaning the dishes while dancing around the last glass of wine)

How we started...

The joy of eating in family, is not something to take lightly...
I remember sitting around my grandmother's table to discover things that you had never thought about eating before and where actually a taste of heaven.
Years passed by, I never discovered something I "did not" like. Now that i think about it I realize, it's love that I’ve always linked to food.
My dad was exactly the same way, I remember he telling us the story about his honeymoon, I think the most impressive fact was actually the Lamb roast of Hawaii, not the sandy beaches or the huge waves.
Today, that is exactly what our business is all about, it's not about becoming a millionaire, or getting people to come by selling them some wines they don’t enjoy...
What to think about Surimi?

For a long time I’ve come across food lovers that don't speak highly on Surimi, at the end of the day all of them eat it and actually enjoys the easy part of preparing it.
Personally i enjoy it in all the varieties. Today i decided to just go and express it in the kitchen:
Whole grain Surimi salad
2 Surimi sticks
1 Chopped tomato (small)
1/2 Chopped avocado
1 lime juice
1/2 Chipotle (or any other spicy chili)
30 grams goat cheese
30 grams sliced emmental cheese
1 slice of whole grain bread
Put the emmental cheese on top of the bread, and heat it for about 5 minutes in the oven or until cheese slightly melts.
Combine all the other ingredients and put it on top the bread!
Voilá!!
